"La Confluencia"
South-east of Santiago de Chile and next to the Tinguirica, Azufre and Portillo rivers, HOCHTIEF has built the new run-of-river power plant called „La Confluencia“. Two main infeed tubes and five minor infeed tubes channel the water from the surrounding valleys and lead it into a reservoir with a daily capacity of 1,2 mio. m³.
Two horizontal tunnels at a total length of 21 kilometers have been built to lead the water from the inlet areas to the approx. 360 meters deep, vertical hydropower shaft, from where it is being directed to the power plant turbines.

Successful project collaboration with EPLASS:
General contractor for this project was a Joint Venture consisting of the former HOCHTIEF Construction AG (now: HOCHTIEF Solutions AG) and TECSA S.A.. Both firms were responsible for planning and building the entire plant, including the access and service roads, turbines and the building services.
Yet again, HOCHTIEF Construction decided to use EPLASS for an international project. An important criterion was particularly the high flexibility of the EPLASS workflows. Hence, the EPLASS workflows were not only used to check the constructional design. Separate workflows had been designed to check the building services and operations manuals plans.
The time management in the EPLASS Professional plan management provided the control of the checking intervals and due finishing dates, which optimized the planning processes and shortened the building time.
