In a european tender EPLASS has been awarded the largest inner-city xonstruction project of Hessen-Mobil: The filling of the gap of the A 66 and the Frankfurt A 661 eastern bypass as well as the construction of the Riederwald tunnel. The project volume amounts to approx. 477 million Euro.

While up to 22,200 vehicles per day pass through the Riederwald district on average without the tunnel on the "Am Erlenbruch" road, this figure drops by around 36 percent to an average of 14,200 vehicles per day with the tunnel. In addition, every second heavy transport vehicle will be eliminated in future. The lower traffic density will reduce traffic congestion and shorten travel times.

The planned 2.2-kilometer-long section of motorway consists of several submeasures:

The centerpiece is the approximately 1.1 kilometre long Riederwald tunnel in the corridor of the road "Am Erlenbruch". The tunnel will run with two tubes under the road and the underground tube. The tunnel will consist of two structurally seperate tubes. It it planned to build the tunnel from the outside to the inside, starting from the two individual ends (portals). The construction will take place in different sections and individual excavation pits. The excavation pits will be constructed using the so-called "open construction method". They each have a length of approx. 200 metres. To the west is the Erlenbruch triangle with the central three-story crossing structure. Four motorway ramps are being built, two of which run under the A661. The Borsigallee junction adjoins to the east, which will replace the present temporary Bergen-Enkheim junction.

The EPLASS Drawing Management with its intelligent checking and approval processes and highly automated workflows as well as the EPLASS Document Management for the filing of all documents of the building file will be used. EPLASS was already used in the preliminary measures for the obtaining of evidence (comissioned by Ingenieurbüro Vössing).
